Support for your cat

Cats behave in ways which make sense to them, but can cause great distress to their human family. These are a few of the many  situations with which I can help. I offer home visits across Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and nearby areas, as well as remote consultations anywhere in the UK (and beyond).

Are you becoming more frustrated with your cat peeing or spraying indoors?

I can help you explore the many possible reasons for this behaviour, after first ruling out a possible medical cause with your veterinarian.

Cats are very sensitive creatures and any change to the environment both externally (a new family with a dog next door for example) or internally, such as decorating or furniture changes, an addition to your home, whether human or feline or a beloved family member leaving home, a new cat in the neighbourhood or undiagnosed pain are just a few of the possible reasons leading cats to begin toileting outside their litter trays or being afraid to go in their gardens when they once did.

I work with you in your home or remotely to explore every aspect of your cat’s life and help your cat to once more feel safe and comfortable to resume their previous toileting habits or establish new equally acceptable ones.

Is Your Cat Biting You?

Has playing with your growing kitten suddenly become less cute as his teeth and nails are stronger and now cause pain?

Does your cat attack you seemingly out of the blue?

When you’re stroking your cat does she suddenly scratch or bite you?

How does your cat respond when you approach him for a cuddle?

I can help you with this to understand your cat and learn when he or she may be thinking of lashing out and the steps to avoid and prevent him or her from doing this.

I work with you in your home or remotely to explore every aspect of your cat’s life and help your cat to once more feel safe and comfortable and reduce the need for most aggressive behaviours

Cats not getting along

Are Your Cats Not Getting Along?

Many cats are quite content to be solo cats even though they may love spending much of their time with their human family.

As we are such a sociable species, we can sometimes think cats get lonely when we are out at work or play.

Cats are originally solo creatures who lived as both predator and prey. They can live contentedly as solo cats as long as they have all their needs met to feel safe, to be both mentally and physically stimulated, and have a suitable and predictable home environment.

When we bring home a kitten or adult cat, this can be a shock and they can struggle to adjust to this perceived intruder.

However, cats can be very adaptable and sometimes they can form close relationships with the new cat or at least learn how to co-exist.

Bringing home a kitten or older cat? I can assist to help them settle in and/or provide support with introductions
